Lawrence Davis from DJ23 is an experienced and versatile DJ/MC & bass player based in the Illawarra South of Sydney NSW. His parents introduced him to music at a young age, starting piano lessons at age 6 and cello lessons at age 8. He toured with the Sydney Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra in 1985 play-ing cello in the string section backing Richard Tognetti at various venues in the USA. He began playing electric bass guitar in bands in the late 1980’s and has played bass with Jeff Lang, Alan Barnes, Groovejar and PJ O’Brien amongst others.
Lawrence’s musical background has greatly assisted him as a DJ/MC in building a huge music library of mainstream and popular genres and hit songs as well as dinner music from the 50’s/60’s/70’s/80’s/90’s through to current top 40 hits. His awareness and intuition in choosing the right songs to play from his extensive music library gets people up and staying on the dancefloor. Taking requests from the guests, he has an interactive and entertaining style of DJ’ing.
Lawrence has performed as a DJ and DJ/MC for hundreds of private functions including weddings, birthday parties, corporate events ranging from 60 to over 500 guests.
